ASEFClassNet EmpowerEd Project 2026
The Green School in Practice

This 4-week online project combines asynchronous study with one weekly live session. It focuses on practical capacity building, enabling teachers to implement immediate sustainability actions in their schools. The project helps secondary schools become greener. First, students check school waste, energy use, and plastic consumption to find the top three problems. Next, teachers mix these environmental topics into daily lessons using global sustainability goals. Following that, students start fun campaigns like “Plastic-Free Wednesday” to build better habits and save energy. Finally, the school connects with parents and local green groups to write an official “Green Manifesto.” This guide sets out the rules for a clean, sustainable school year.

Goals

The goals are to:

  •  Identify the top three school environmental priorities by completing a rapid green audit.
  • Create one ready-to-implement lesson plan that embeds sustainability into your specific subject.
  • Draft a community collaboration proposal and a final school Green Manifesto by week four.
