ASEFClassNet EmpowerEd Project 2026
Active, Inclusive and Authentic AI Classroom
Active, Inclusive and Authentic AI Classrooms is a transformative professional development journey designed specifically for secondary school educators connecting across Asia and Europe. Rather than focusing on fleeting tech tools, this program elevates pedagogy, anchoring generative AI within the robust OECD AI Literacy Framework UNESCO AI Competency and AI-TPACK frameworks to treat technology as an active cognitive partner. Through a dynamic blend of flexible asynchronous preparation and live workshops, educators will collaborate to re-engineer their daily teaching practices. The curriculum focuses deeply on three pedagogical pillars: cultivating active, Socratic inquiry to prevent student cognitive offloading; implementing Universal Design for Learning to build inclusive, multi-lingual resources for diverse classrooms; and redesigning traditional evaluations into authentic, process-based assessments that protect academic integrity.
By collaborating across continents on practical, subject-specific tasks, participants will shift from passive users to master designers of AI-enhanced learning environments. Teachers will emerge from the experience with a supportive global network of peers and a fully customized, classroom-ready lesson portfolio that will prepare their students for a highly digital world.
Goals
The goals are to:
- enable teachers master active, AI-enhanced pedagogy to foster critical thinking and prevent cognitive offloading.
- enable educators design inclusive, multilingual learning environments using AI to support diverse student needs.
- enable teachers to implement process-based, authentic assessments that protect academic integrity and evaluate actual growth.
