How can YOUth Anticipate and Shape the Future?
WHAT IS #ASEFYLS?
The ASEF Young Leaders Summit (ASEFYLS) is a Youth platform that connects young people across Asia & Europe, applying a 360 degree approach on leadership development and community engagement: 1) self-leadership (you), 2) team leadership (we) and 3) societal leadership (all).
The ASEFYLS Capacity Trainings 2026 is a youth leadership programme focusing on ‘Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centered Future’, with a 8-week collaborative online Training programme. Selected participants from the online training will also be invited to join the ‘Asia-Europe Youth Leadership Training: Anticipatory Leadership in the Arctic’.
‘Anticipatory Leadership’ is the capacity and habit of using the future to inform the present by analysing trends, exploring a range of future scenarios, and using those insights to question assumptions, adjust leadership style, and take collaborative, adaptive action, that move systems toward more equitable and sustainable futures.

WHAT WILL #ASEFYLS2026 LOOK LIKE?
The ASEFYLS2026 programme takes place from June to July 2026 and consists of 2 programme elements with the aim to give participants the opportunity to learn, to collaborate and to turn theory into action: (1) the Online Training (2) Multiplier Activities in Local Communities.
The ASEFYLS2026 Online Training takes place between 9 June – 30 July 2026 brings together 100-120 participants for for an immersive 8-week virtual learning experience. The training invites young leaders from Asia and Europe to participate in webinars, interactives exercises, and leadership dialogues, fusing theory, training, and policy.
The ASEFYLS2026 challenges the participants to demonstrate their leadership – translating the theory into action, where they have to organise multiplier events in their local communities which help to reach larger audiences on the topic of ‘Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centered Future’.
In addition, 40 selected participants from the ASEFYLS Capacity Training will be invited to join the ‘Asia-Europe Youth Leadership Training: Anticipatory Leadership in the Arctic‘ which will take place in Tromsø, Norway between 23-29 August 2026.
Participation in the ‘Asia-Europe Youth Leadership Training: Anticipatory Leadership in the Arctic’ is dependent on active participation in the ASEFYLS Capacity Training. Participants invited to join the in-person event will be expected to organise their Multiplier Activity after returning home from Norway. You can learn more about the Norway event here.

WHO CAN JOIN #ASEFYLS2026?
ASEFYLS Capacity Trainings 2026 is open to representatives of youth and student organisations from across Asia & Europe from diverse backgrounds. 100-120 people will be invited to join the online training.
The Open Call for this edition will open soon.
You will be able to indicate your interest to participate in the ASEFYLS Capacity Training and the ‘Asia-Europe Leadership Training: Anticipatory Leadership in the Arctic’ in Norway, or if you are only interested in/available to participate in the ASEFYLS Capacity Training.
